How we work

We believe in partnership and the value of relationship. Our projects in the Middle East must meet all aspects of our tagline.

Relief | Reconciliation | Relationship

We partner with nationals on the ground with their established work in Palestinian refugee camps. We come alongside and partner by bringing supplies, funding projects, and volunteering our time to these organizations. The focus is on the national organization as we assist them to serve their own communities. The projects we participate in are by the request and need of our national partners.

International Women’s Day

For International Women's day we raised $3000 for a mental health and wellness program for the staff of Hopes For Women, our partner in Jordan. The Wellness retreat was held in a remote villa away from the camp over Memorial Day weekend. It was for staff only; a chance for them to be together, away from their family pressures, and to be able to process the past year. There was full program including yoga classes and psychosocial sessions led by a psychotherapist.

“I learned from her how we hide our feelings inside us. We learned how to be at peace with ourselves. And that life is worth doing everything we can to be persistent in it. A lot of positive things that I learned how to close negative doors! Alhamdulillah, it was a very wonderful day, and I swear to God it is an unforgettable day with all its details. Thank you to everyone who contributed to my appearance with you.” Hopes For Women staff member

Urgent Request - Medicine for Lebanon

In August Beirut and Beyond raised over $10,000 for over-the-counter medications for the country of Lebanon. Lebanon is experiencing an economic collapse and simple medicines like Advil and cough syrup are unavailable in the country.

We personally delivered 250 pounds of medication to the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Beirut in early September. The entire project including raising funds, buying, invoicing, packing and delivering the medications to Beirut was accomplished in two weeks.

Beirut Blast - August, 2020

In August 2020, we sent $15,000 to our partners in Beirut for Palestinian Civil Defense. This is all thanks to our donors who generously gave in the aftermath of the Beirut blast. Palestinian Civil Defense is a network of emergency services that provide firefighting, paramedic, and search and rescue services in Palestinian refugees camps in Lebanon. They offered their services after the Beirut blast and worked side by side with Lebanese Civil Defense to rescue those trapped under the rubble.
